The World Slid Sideways ~ So What Do We Do Now...?

Our world has been rocked ~ yours, mine, everyone's...

No matter how old, young, successful, capable or otherwise, what was 6 months ago, will not be in the future.

Yeah, I hear ya; it's confusing, frustrating and even a little frightening...

But does it need to be that way...?

Nope.

No matter what you believe in ~ and to be honest, I am not concerned with what you believe in, as long as you care what you believe in, that's what matters for you.

As we emerge into new daily routines, corporate work spaces and that coveted coffee with a friend at the local cafe ~ it's important we do one thing.

Yep, one thing peeps.

Focus forward.

Look beyond your window, as that is once again going to become your playground.

Let the WHO and other powers that be, track backwards and find exacting origins, patient zero and whatever else they need, so they may lay their heavy hand on the correct shoulders, as that is their job, their purpose, not yours.

Us mere mortals are unable to affect change on a global scale right now, as we are simply trying to survive within the conditions that surround us.

Doesn't matter if we agree with the conditions, the fact is, they exist.

I am a firm believer that our focus is always productive if we look to what is within our control, within our own realm of possibilities, as then we can make any change we want to make.

So, that brings us to my initial question; "So what do we do now...?"

It's actually quite easy, you've already done the hard bit, you just didn't realise it...

In the wee dark hours, those moments of balancing your cheque book, deciphering new recipes, redefining your workspace and downloading your child's latest google classroom doc ~ you've been silently asking yourself:

  • Can I do this...
  • Is my family happy...
  • Am I good at my job...
  • Are my actions reasonable...
  • Is my life purposeful...
  • Do I matter...
  • What do I want...
  • Is my family functioning...
  • Am I happy...
  • Do I like my job...
  • Can I do this...

YES ~ you can do this!

During those Netflix marathons, online workout videos (that are tough to follow right!) and all that indulgent baking... you were digging deep, and I don't mean into the chip bowl...

You, and only you, hold the power to make positive change in your life.

We've worried, we've cried and some of us have experienced the unimaginable pain of losing loved ones ~ and my heart aches for those we will not see again...

But we've kept going, because it's what we do.

We have discovered so much about ourselves in these past few months ~ not only can we give love to those in need, but we are also worthy of receiving love.

Don't be fooled by my chatter here, I know we need more than love to make the world go round, but it's a heck of a good place to start!

If you make your decisions with a loving foundation and a loving intent, you will make it.

I'm not an idiot ~ love doesn't pay the mortgage, school fees or even the basics of food on our table.

I get that and I live that every day.

What I refer to is being honest with yourself about how your life can and will be as we step outside and into our new world...

"So what do we do now...?"

We make sure we use what we've learned during the past few months:

  • Do we need two cars...
  • Can I work at home...
  • Do we need that one avocado from the store...today...
  • Can leftovers be a weekday meal night...
  • Is my child over-scheduled with activities...
  • Am I working with my true purpose...
  • Can we vacation in our own country more...
  • Are we supporting local business's enough...
  • Am I tapping into new skills learned during Covid19...

And the biggest question of all...

  • Do we want to go back to Pre-Covid19...?

The answer is no by the way.

We cannot go back to what it was, as it wasn't working.

This is our time to start again.

Some thought Covid19 would be the end of the world, but the Universe is far kinder than we give it credit for...

The Universe has given us another chance.

Don't blow it.
